Fuel Level Instrument Settings

All fuel measurements refer to quantities in level flight conditions:

A - Always zero. This is the reading where only the unusable fuel remains in the tank.

B - Maximum red line fuel quantity as stated in the manual and required for setup.

C - Maximum yellow line fuel quantity as stated in the manual and required for setup.

There may be a number of caveats to specific fuel instruments. There are mostly covered by the following two instances:

1. If there is no yellow line then set yellow line to red line value + 0.1. This way it is eliminated.

2. If you have no red line defined then set the red line to a minimum of 10 minutes cruise fuel per tank. Example: If you burn 14GPH in cruise set red line maximum at 2.3. On a two tank system that gives you 20 minutes flying time at cruise power.
